Under the ‘Disaster Resilient and Linked Communities project’, Community Appraisal & Motivation Programme (CAMP) handed over a flood mitigation toolkit to Punjab Emergency Service to enhance the capacity of Rescue 1122 in handling emergencies and disasters at district Sargodha. The project is funded by Ministry of Economic Cooperation & Development (BMZ), Germany, through HELP Germany.
The handing over ceremony was organised at the office of Rescue 1122 Sargodha on February 1, 2017. Deputy Commissioner District Sargodha, District Emergency Officer Rescue 1122 Sargodha, CAMP Management, senior officials from Health Department and Rescue 1122 District Office staff participated in the ceremony. Deputy Commissioner appreciated CAMP’s efforts for addressing the capacity needs of district government and flood-prone communities.
The flood mitigation toolkit included boat carrier, cameras, search lights, emergency kits, sleeping bags, nebulisers, foldable chairs and helmets. A similar toolkit was handed over to Rescue 1122 at district Chiniot in November 2016.
