Stakeholders Consultations on 'Assessing the Tribal Jirga System in Pakistan’s Tribal Areas'

Four Stakeholder consultations were held respectively on 21st, 23rd, 25th and 26th February , 2011 at Laraib Inn Islamabad. Jirga Stakeholders from all the four regions of FATA and Frontier Regions were invited. The aim was to share with them preliminary research findings of Jirga Perception survey and to ascertain their opinions on various aspects of Jirga.

The participants belonged to all walks of life including Maliks, Elders, Civil Society Representatives, Journalists, Teachers, Businessmen and Doctors etc.

Mr. Naveed Ahmed Shinwari, CEO CAMP, Mr. Riaz-ul-Haq, Programme Manager Research CAMP and Habibullah Baig, Deputy Legal Advisor, CAMP led these stakeholders’ consultations while logistics were coordinated by Masood Ahmed and Khawar Khurshid
