Community Appraisal and Motivation Programme (CAMP) is a national non-profit and non-governmental organization established and registered in May 2002, under the Societies Act of 1860 (Registration No. 192/5/2946). We work with some of the most underprivileged communities in the Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province of Pakistan; responding to emergencies, improving access to quality health and education, creating livelihood opportunities and working closely with communities and government departments to promote human rights, peace and security.(Read more about CAMP)

Survey of existing industries & labour force in FATA

Development of industrial sector in FATA has been hampered due to a number of reasons, one of which is lack of interest by the government. While the sector employs almost 10,000 individuals, most of them are unskilled and the business ventures are restricted to small owner financed units. State Bank of Pakistan has prohibited all banks from extending loans to the people of the area which has further curbed any opportunities for advances. In collaboration with the FATA Development Authority (FDA), CAMP is conducting a survey titled "Survey /Enumerations of Existing Industries, Service Sector Entities, Labour Force and Identifying constraints in FATA", over a period of six months starting November 2009.

FATA Survey ReportThe survey will span all seven agencies and will outline the opinion of the residents about the problems they are facing in the industrial sector. CAMP's extensive work on FCR and close association with Tribal Chambers of Commerce and Industries (TCCI) will facilitate in achieving the objective. CAMP will also build on the collected data and provide solid suggestions and policy measures for bringing improvement to the industrial sector in FATA.
