With support from AktionDeutschland Hilft (ADH) and HELP Germany, Community Appraisal and Motivation Programme started the ‘Developing Skills for Change Leaders’ project in September 2017. The project will provide leadership training to 240 young men and women from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province and the Federally Administered Tribal Area (FATA), regions affected by conflict.
The first workshop for 16 young participants between the ages of 21 -30, was held at Islamabad from 25 – 27 September 2017. The participants were exposed to various topics through talks, group work and videos, including on: project cycle management, negotiating and decision making, teambuilding, and effective communications. In groups, the participants worked on conceiving project ideas and presented some excellent ideas on the last day of the workshop.
CAMP invited two inspirational leaders to meet with the participants. One of them spoke about his success as ‘CEO at 34’ while the other shared his experience as a young leader who has benefited from voluntary work and networking.
The Deputy Head of Mission from the German Embassy, Dr. Jens Jokisch, kindly attended the closing ceremony of the workshop. He spoke with the young participants about the challenges facing Pakistan and how they can contribute to the development of the country. Dr.Jokisch distributed certificates among the participants, and acknowledged CAMP’s efforts in working with youth!
