A periodical networking meeting with the CBOs of Kurram Agency was held on 16th June, 2010 at Shalozan House, Parachinar. Most of the participants were presidents and general secretaries of their CBOs. On the basis of their geographical location three clusters/ networks of the CBOs were formed with each cluster/ network comprising of 10 – 11 CBOs. The CBOs representatives of each cluster in separate groups, elected three members as focal persons from their cluster/ network. Later on the elected nine focal persons elected a convener and a joint convener for the Kurram Agency CBOs network. Mr. Habib Ullah Fani and Mr. Iqbal Hussain were elected as convener and joint convener respectively.
In the
last session of the programme the CBO members were briefed about the small grants procedure. The formats which would be followed while preparing proposals for the small grants were distributed among all the CBOs. The CBOs representatives appreciated the efforts of CAMP for its practical support to the local organizations of Kurram Agency, particularly at a time when no developmental work is going on in the area due to military operation against the militants and closure of regular route that links Upper Kurram with rest of the country.
