Community Appraisal and Motivation Programme (CAMP), under its ‘Disaster Linked Resilient Linked Communities’ Project, initiated awareness sessions for school students in close collaboration with Punjab Emergency Service Rescue 1122 in April 2017. Under this activity, 1500 students from 50 schools in flood-prone areas of Districts Sargodha and Chiniot will be given training on disaster management. Each school will receive an emergency toolkit to be used in case of a disaster, and the school management will be trained on how to respond in case of a disaster. CAMP believes students and their schools can play an important role in pre, during and post-disaster phases. The project is supported by the German Ministry for Economic Cooperation & Development, through HELP Germany.
