CAMP employs talented professionals with experience in various fields ranging from research, sociology, law, mass communications, humanitarian studies, international relations, political science, literature, other social sciences, and medicine. By employing such diversity of knowledge and experience, CAMP has developed a valuable resource pool which has contributed to its success.

Mr. Naveed Ahmad Shinwari – Founding Chief Executive & President

Naveed Ahmad Shinwari is the Founding Chief Executive of CAMP and has over 19 years of experience in the development sector. He has rich experience designing and conducting qualitative and quantitative research. Mr. Shinwari is the author of the ‘Understanding FATA’ (five volumes) and several other publications including the latest “Understanding the Informal Justice system: Opportunities and possibilities for legal pluralism in Pakistan”, and “Understanding Jirga”. He holds M.Sc in Social Research Methods from the University of Sussex, UK and is pursuing his PhD in Social Anthropology from the School of Global Studies, University of Sussex. Mr. Shinwari also holds a Bachelors in Engineering (B.E) in Electronics from N. E. D. University of Engineering & Technology, MBA Degree in Project Management and an International Diploma in Humanitarian Assistance (IDHA) from Fordham University, New York.
He remains actively involved in several national and global advocacy networks. Mr. Shinwari founded the Community Motivation and Development Organization (CMDO) and worked as its Chief Executive before laying the foundations for CAMP. He is also the founder of the UK-based charity organisation “PEOPLE International”.

Ms. Mariam Khan – Director Programmes

Ms. Mariam Khan is a Gold medallist with a Masters Degree in Mass Communication. She also has a Diploma in Women’s Human Rights Law.
With over 15 years of experience, Mariam has worked with the International Rescue Committee (IRC) managing refugee and relief programmes; the World Conservation Union (IUCN), as well as other local and international communication organisations.
As Director Programmes at CAMP, Mariam’s main responsibilities include oversight of the programme; fundraising and proposal development; maintaining donor relations and contributing to organisational and staff development. She is also providing support to CAMP’s communication activities including newsletters, publications and the official website.

Engineer Tahir Ali Awan – Director Operations

Mr. Tahir Ali Awan is an Agricultural Engineer by profession who has over 17 years of experience in the development sector.
Before joining CAMP, he worked with national development NGOs, as well as engineering consultants and builders where he managed diverse developmental assignments, in particular Community Physical Infrastructure (CPI), Natural Resource Management (NRM) projects, which form part of his areas of expertise.
At CAMP, he is responsible for providing strategic direction and oversight to the core management team and supporting operational functions. He is mainly responsible for the delivery of effective, efficient and high quality programmes through the delivery of adequate and optimal level of support services – these include security, logistics, human resource, administration, procurement and IT, as well as overall efficient functioning of the field office Sarghoda.

Mr. Riaz-ul-Haq – Senior Manager, Research

Mr. Riaz-ul-Haq has an M. Phil and Master’s Degree in Social Work, and also has to his credit several research studies at academic and professional levels.
Working with CAMP since 2002, Riaz is currently leading the Research section and is responsible for managing all related field work. He has trained and developed a pool of over 200 enumerators across Pakistan, who are called upon by CAMP to take part in surveys from time to time.
With an experience of over 17 years, he has focused on participatory development and formation of community based organisations as well as human and institutional development. Riaz previously worked at the Sarhad Rural Support Program (SRSP).

Mr. Abdul Waheed – Finance Consultant

Mr. Abdul Waheed has a degree in Chartered Accountancy (Finalist) and a bachelor’s degree in Economics. Working with CAMP since 2012, Abdul Waheed is currently leading the Finance department as Finance Consultant and is responsible for managing finance, accounts and donor reports. He leads a team of finance officers based at CAMP main and field offices.
He has more than 12 years of experience managing financial, accounting, internal audit and financial advisory services and has an in-depth knowledge of associates policies, procedures and systems of corporate and social sector organisations. He has previously worked with PDMA/PaRRSA KPK, Anjum Asim Shahid Rehman Chartered Accountants (Grant Thornton International) and has done short term assignments for AASR (GTI) in Afghanistan.

Ms. Fareeha Sultan – Programme Consultant

Ms. Fareeha holds a Master’s degree in Mass Communication and M. Phil in South Asian Studies. She has over ten years of experience as advocacy and communication expert.
Fareeha has also gained ample experience in project development, management and coordination.
Fareeha has authored the introductory chapter of the research study ‘Honour Crimes in Pakistan: Unveiling Reality and Perception’ at CAMP in 2013. She was previously the Project Manager for the Rule of Law Programming Project, EU funded Project “Promoting Participatory Approaches to Peace-building” and CommonWealth funded Project ” The Sisters’ Voice” at CAMP from 2010-2016. She has previously worked on projects addressing gender issues such as violence against women, women empowerment, women rights for sexual reproduction, women centered regional labour and social welfare issues. She is also a freelance journalist focusing on issues and problems Pakistani women face.
Currently, Fareeha is supporting CAMP Programme department in the capacity of Programme Consultant.

Ms. Khan – HR & Admin Coordinator

Ms. Khan, has a Master’s degree in Economics from University of Peshawar. She has vast experience in the development sector and a good working knowledge and successful track record of managing Human Resources and office Administration.
Currently Ms. Khan is the HR & Admin Coordinator and is primarily responsible for coordinating and providing support to human resource, administration, procurement, logistics and IT functions of CAMP. She also supports Director Operations, CAMP in implementing standing operating procedures of overall operations.

Sohail Ahmad Tajik – Sr. M & E Officer

Currently serving in the capacity of Senior Monitoring and Evaluation Officer at CAMP, Sohail has served in different international, national and local organizations including MOLE, IUCN, Leonard Cheshire Disability and SRSP. He has over thirteen years of professional experience with hands-on monitoring and evaluation, capacity building, partnership management and project/program management with good knowledge pertaining to Livelihood, Environment, Disability and Disaster Risk Reduction.
He is leading CAMP’s M&E Section providing relevant inputs like developing appropriate M&E systems for projects/program including M&E Plans, Data Collection Tools, Analysis and Reporting.
Sohail is an Environmental Scientist holding a Master’s degree in Environmental Planning and Management. He is multilingual having proficiency in English, Urdu, Pashto, Persian (Dari) and Hindko.
